Norma J. Yarnik, 82, of Staunton, Illinois died on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, Illinois. Born May 20, 1934 in Staunton, Illinois, she was a daughter of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Frank and Genevieve (Zentello) Pervinsek. She married Arthur h. Yarnik on June 2, 1956 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton, IL and he survives. She worked as a Bookkeeper at First National Bank in Staunton from 1972 to 2014. She was also the Treasurer for Staunton School District from the late 1950’s through 2014. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton. Norma loved cooking for her family, her grandchildren, and following her children and grandchildren in all their activities. She also enjoyed shopping, gardening, and dressing up.

She is survived by her Husband, Art Yarnik of Staunton, IL; 5 Children, Greg (Heidi) Yarnik of Palatine, IL; Val (Mark) Buffington of Staunton, IL; Tim (Yolanda) Yarnik of Springfield, IL; Phil (Shanna) Yarnik of Frisco, TX; and Doug (fiancé Wendy Stahl) Yarnik of Staunton, IL; 8 Grandchildren, Paige & Brooke Buffington, Alexandria & Ashleigh Yarnik, Morgan & Rachel Yarnik, and Eric & Scott Yarnik; 1 Sister, Dolores (John) Suedel of Jackson, MS. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2016 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton. A Memorial service will follow at 11 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton with Rev. George Radosevich officiating. Her remains were cremated and will be interred later in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL. Memorials are suggested to either St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton.
