Hazel C. Murphy, 93 of Staunton, IL passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Heritage Health in Staunton. Born April 6, 1923 in New Madrin, MO, she was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Ernest and Hattie (Horn) Curtis. She married Clyde Murphy Sr and he passed away on July 10, 1988. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by 3 children, Clyde (Virginia) Murphy Jr. of Staunton, IL; Joan L. (Richard) Brennan of Godfrey, IL; and John (Carol) Murphy of Staunton, IL; 17 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren survive. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Modena Mae Lindsey & Hazel Irene Clemons; 1 grandson, Gary Lee Cralley Jr; 1 granddaughter, Jonnie Rae Ann Clemons; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Rev. Mark Mathenia officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
