Carl Eugene Ashauer, 82 of Worden, Illinois passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Born October 20, 1934 in Alton, IL, he was a son of the Late Mr. Carl M. Ashauer and Mrs. Hazel (Krotz) Ashauer. He married Donna Jean Luer on November 6, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden, Illinois and she survives. He worked as an Operating Engineer at Owens-Illinois Glass in Alton, Illinois for many years. He later worked for Teamsters at Worden Lumber Company in Worden, Illinois. He was a decorated veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict from 1952-1953.  He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Worden, IL, the Worden Volunteer Fire Department, and the Worden American Legion Post #564.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Jean Ashauer of Worden, IL; 1 daughter, Rita Srum of Millstadt, IL:  2 sons, David (wife Maria Giardina) Ashauer of Soulard, MO and Dale Ashauer of Highland, IL; 4 grandchildren, Kelly (Daniel) Consiglio, Courtney Srum, Clark (Kellie) Srum, and Kayla Srum (significant other Anthony Gowgiel; 1 great grandchild, Gianna Consiglio, 1 brother, William (Shirley) Ashauer of Hamel, IL, and 1 sister-in-law, Kathleen Bloemker of Worden, IL. Nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Friday at Williamson Funeral Home in Worden, IL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden, IL with Rev. Heath Curtis officiating. Burial will be held at the Worden Lutheran Cemetery in Worden, IL. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church of Worden, IL.
