Wilma E. (Meyer) Braasch

Wilma E. Braasch, 103, of Prairietown, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL.  She was born October 18, 1921 in Worden, IL, the daughter of the late Earnest & Julia (Koenig) Meyer.  She married Delmore H. Braasch on April 5, 1942 in Worden, IL & he passed away January 2, 2000.

Wilma was cashier at Hamel State Bank in Hamel, IL for many years, retiring in 1986.  She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL, & past president of St. Peter's Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML).

She is survived by two daughters -  Donna (Tony) Nappi of Cape Elizabeth, Maine,  &  Brenda Werner of Prairietown, IL;  a daughter-in-law -  Sandy Braasch of Hudson, IL;  five grandchildren;  eleven great grandchildren;  &  one great great grandchild.  Several nieces & nephews also survive.  Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by one son -  Donald Braasch;  one son-in-law -  Jerry Werner;  & two brothers -  Wilbur Meyer & Lester Meyer.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL, with Rev. Oliver LaMie officiating & Rev. Joel S. Eden preaching.  Interment will follow at Prairietown Cemetery in Prairietown, IL.

Memorials are suggested to either St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Prairietown, IL or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
