Willard Davis Obituary

Willard D. "Will" Davis, 73, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 5:38 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his residence in Staunton, IL surrounded by his loving family.

Will is survived by his wife Pam (Seaton) Davis of Staunton, IL;  two children -  Eric (Katie) Davis of Staunton, IL & Carla (Luke) Zimmer of Edwardsville, IL;  & four grandchildren -  Drew & Abby Davis, &  Carter & Cooper Zimmer.

He was born March 4, 1950 in Berryville, AR, the son of the late James & Sarah (Miller) Davis of Berryville, AR.  He had one sibling, Jim Davis.  Both his parents & brother preceded him in death.

During his teenage years he played football for Berryville High School & with his love of music & musical talents he played in a rock band from 1966 to 1972 & worked as a drum instructor at a local music store.

Will & Pam met in Eureka Springs, AR in 1970 & were married in April of 1973 in Edwardsville, IL.  They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

His career as an electrician encompassed positions at Caterpillar Tractor in Peoria, IL from 1973 to 1975, Emerson Electric in St. Louis, MO from 1977 to 1988, & Ford Motor Company in St. Louis, MO from 1988 to 2006.

Will enjoyed playing his guitar, woodworking, river rafting with friends & family, traveling, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, & spending time with Penny, his beagle buddy.  Some of his favorite vacations were spent on the beaches of Florida with his family.

There was no limit to the love & pride he felt for his children & grandchildren, & hearts are breaking in our family as we say farewell to an amazing husband, father, & "Papa".

Respecting Will's wishes, no public services are scheduled.  Memorials are suggested to Vitas Hospice.
