Violet R. Felchner, 91, of Staunton, IL, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Heritage Health in Staunton. Born March 9, 1930, in Mutual, CO, she was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Jack & Mary (Christelli) Martinelli. She married Robert Felchner in September of 1952, and he passed away in September of 2000. She was a homemaker and a great mother. She did the St. Michael’s Church laundry for over 50 years. Vi was a seamstress for years and could even men a broken heart. She truly loved her 3 boys & “I have the best daughter-in-law a mother could ask for- I don’t know what I would do without her!” She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton.
She is survived by 3 sons, Dennis Felchner of Scottsville, KY, Gene (Cheryl) Felchner of Springfield, IL, and Jack (Cindy) Felchner of Worden, IL, 7 grandchildren, Jeff Felchner, Stacy Felchner, John (Jessica) Felchner, Joe (Danyelle) Felchner, Allison Felchner, Luke (Becky) Felchner, and Lindsay Felchner (Clay Bush), 5 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Herman Martinelli of Missouri, 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Martinelli of Staunton and Florence Felchner of Staunton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother, Art Martinelli.
Friends may call from 9 to11 AM on Friday, February 25, 2022, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Staunton. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton with Father Tom Hagstrom officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to either St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton or to St. Jude Cancer research Center.
