Thomas D. Stipcak Jr.

Thomas D. Stipcak Jr., 75 of Staunton, Illinois died at his residence on Sunday, February 2, 2020. Born May 26, 1944 in Staunton, he was a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas D. & Dina (Busse) Stipcak Sr. He married Beverly Gusewelle on July 6, 1968 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hamel, Illinois and she survives. He worked as a Police Officer with the City of Staunton for many years.  He started working out of high school on the flight line at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO, then worked for Schwan’s in the mid 1970’s.  He started his career as a police officer with the city of Gillespie before transferring to Staunton.  Tom served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton and the Staunton Sportsman’s Club. He loved to bowl, bowling at The Alleys in Staunton for many years. He also enjoyed Police Combat Shooting, playing cards, and watching his grandchildren participate in all their activities.

He is survived by his Wife, Beverly Stipcak of Staunton, Illinois; 3 Sons, Brett Stipcak of Staunton, Illinois, Brian (Jaime) Stipcak of New Douglas, Illinois, Brad Stipcak of Topeka, Kansas; 2 Grandchildren, Riley & Raven Stipcak of New Douglas, Illinois; His Twin Brother, Jerry (Kristine) Stipcak of Cumming, Georgia. Several Nieces, Nephews, & Cousins also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister, Shirley Hemann.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton with Pastor Kelly Mitteis officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton.
