Thomas E. Lindgens, 87, of New Douglas, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at his residence in New Douglas, IL. He was born May 31, 1938 in Alhambra, IL, the son of the late Herman & Catherine (Zeller) Lindgens. He married Beatrice Roberts on September 27, 1958 in Livingston, IL, & she passed away December 20, 2010.
Because Thomas suffered from asthma, he culd not join the military, so he went to work as a machinist at McDonnell Douglas Corporation (later Boeing) & worked there for 41 years. He was a member of Local #837, & was also a Charter Member of the Southern Illinois Baptist Convention Team, which provides assistance & relief to flood, tornado, & disaster victims. Thomas was also an Ordained Baptist Deacon & served as a Deacon at New Hope Baptist Church in Worden, IL, of which he was a member.
He is survived by two daughters - Donna Lindgens of Staunton, IL, & Connie Holland of Litchfield, IL; one son - Thomas (Tracy) Lindgens Jr. of Hillsboro, IL; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother - Leonard Lindgens of Worden, IL; two sisters - Viola Boschelli of Highland, IL, & Anna (Gary) Wilson of Highland, IL; & several nieces, nephews, & cousins also survive. Besides his wife & parents, he was preceded in death by one brother in infancy; one son-in-law - Robert Holland Jr.; & seven brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, including Ronald Boschelli.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, October 17, 2025 at New Hope Baptist Church in Worden, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 17, 2025 at New Hope Baptist Church in Worden, IL, with Pastor John Heater III officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Alhambra, IL.
