Thomas E. Lindgens Jr., 63, of Hillsboro, Illinois, passed away at his residence in Hillsboro, IL on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:06 PM. Born December 29, 1962, in Staunton, Illinois, he was a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas & Beatrice (Roberts) Lindgens Sr. He married Tracy O’Neil on March 6, 1998, in Florida and she survives. He worked as a sheet metal worker at Boeing (formerly McDonnell-Douglas) of St. Louis, MO for many years. He would later start his own business, and owned and operated Lindgens Tree Service out of Hillsboro, IL. He served his country honorably, serving in both the U.S. Army and later the U.S. Navy. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a disabled veteran. He was a past member of the Mt. Moriah Masons Lodge #51 AF & AM in Hillsboro, IL. He was an avid outdoorsman, where he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Tracy Lindgens of Hillsboro, IL, 4 children, Thomas E. Lindgens III (fiancé Shelbi Roberts) of Collinsville, IL, Samantha Lindgens of Brighton, IL, Ryan Lindgens (Heather Jackson) of Mt. Olive, IL, John Bryan of Taylorville, IL, 7 grandchildren, Oakleigh Lindgens, Parker Lindgens, Hayley Hicks, Danielle Hicks, Gavin Hicks, Ava Lindgens, Ryan Lindgens Jr, 2 sisters, Donna Lindgens of Staunton, IL and Connie Holland of Litchfield, IL. 4 nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10 AM-11 AM at New Hope Baptist Church in Worden, IL. A Memorial service will follow at 11 AM at New Hope Baptist Church in Worden, IL with Pastor David Lindgens officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family.
