Terry L. Best

Terry L. Best, 76, of Worden, IL, passed away at 12:07 AM on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at his residence in Worden, IL.  He was born July 9, 1949 in Litchfield, IL, the son of the late John R. & Edna Leona (Behme) Best.  He married Pamela J. Scoggins on August 10, 1984 in Edwardsville, IL & she passed away on July 26, 2012.

Terry was employed as the Street & Alley Supervisor & the Sewer Supervisor for the village of Worden for many years.  He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, & was a member of Worden American Legion Post #564 of Worden, IL.  Terry was a retired member (Captain) of the Worden Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by two sons -  Terry R. (Kim) Best of Worden, IL,  &  John (Carrie) Best of Worden, IL;  five grandchildren -  Terry Lee Best,  Riley Best,  Hunter Best,  Ella Best,  &  Kensi Best;  his special companion - his dog "Binx";  & several nieces & nephews also survive.  Besides his wife & parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers -  John "Bing" Best,  Lee Best,  &  Wray Best.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 noon on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL, with Pastor Daniel Renfrow officiating.  Burial will follow at Worden City Cemetery in Worden, IL with full military honors.
