Shirley A. (Oswald) Russell

Shirley A. Russell, 97, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 3:24 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Community Hospital of Staunton, IL.  She was born August 20, 1927 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Walter Henry & Hilda (Buhlinger) Oswald.  She married Richard Russell on September 7, 1950 & he passed away March 10, 2010.

Shirley was primarily a homemaker, but she did assist Dick at the family furniture store for many years.  She was an active & supporting member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton, The Garden Club at Holiday Shores, volunteered at His Service Station for many years, & loved boating & swimming.

She is survived by two sons -  David Russell of Monterey, CA,  &  Dan Russell of Staunton, IL;  eight grandchildren -  Katie (Archibald) Rapp,  Tom Archibald,  Nicole (Russell) Redfern,  Nicholas Russell,  Colin Russell,  Taryn Russell,  Danielle Russell,  &  Tenaya Russell;  & three great grandchildren -  Dominic & Avery Rapp,  &  Kade Redfern.  Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter -  Beth Archibald.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date.  Memorials are suggested to St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton, IL.
