Roy Clifford "Pudge" Fleming, 79, of rural Staunton, IL, passed away at 1:30 PM on Monday, June 1, 2026 at his residence. He was born October 29, 1946 in East St. Louis, IL, the son of the late Roy & Rose Marie (Dudley) Fleming. He married Diane Stanley on June 15, 1968 in Worden, IL & she survives.
Roy was a Concrete Finisher with Local #90 of East St. Louis, IL, & was a Purple Heart recipient, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Panama VFW Post #6628 in Panama, IL, New Douglas Masonic Lodge #560, the National Wild Turkey Federation, & was an avid lifelong hunter.
He is survived by his wife - Diane Fleming of rural Staunton, IL; one son - Randy (Kim) Fleming of DeSoto, MO; two grandchildren - Nikki (Stuart) Fraser of New Douglas, IL, & Richard Fleming of Roxana, IL; two great grandchildren - Owen & Wyatt Fraser; one sister - Lynda Whitson of Staunton, IL; & one brother - Jack Fleming. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son - Kenny Fleming; one granddaughter - Amber Fleming; one sister - Charlotte Tiepelman; & three brothers - Ronnie, James, & David Fleming.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran School in Staunton, IL.
