Roleen Ann (Hartke) Henke

Roleen Ann Henke, 94, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 10:40 AM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL.  She was born August 23, 1929 in Cahokia Township, Macoupin County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Charles & Anna (Engelman) Hartke.  She married Norman Henke on October 3, 1948 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cahokia Township, Macoupin County, Illinois & he passed away on January 31, 2007.

Roleen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton, the Zion Ladies Aid, & the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.  She was a homemaker & enjoyed family, gardening, needlework, & helping on the farm.

She is survived by two daughters -  Cheryl (Jim) Walker  &  Mary (Scott) Henke-Reed;  two daughters-in-law -  Ruth Ann Henke  &  Linda Henke;  ten grandchildren -  Rachel (Tim) Seelbach,  Ryan (Georgia) Henke,  Robert Henke,  Jim Walker Jr. (friend Stephanie),  Jeremy (Jennie) Walker,  Jason (April) Walker,  Kelsey Henke,  Konner Henke,  Brennan (Baylee) Reed,  &  Griffin (friend Kevin) Reed;  eleven great grandchildren;  two brothers-in-law -  Phil Dennis  &  Wes Wolff;  one sister-in-law -  Erma Hartke;  & many nieces, nephews, great nieces, & great nephews also survive.  

Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by four sons -  Ronald, Raymond, Kent, & Keith (in infancy) Henke;  one brother -  Norman Hartke;  &  three sisters -  Melba DeVries,  Carolyn Wolff,  &  JoAnn Dennis.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL, with Rev. Phil Girardin officiating.  Burial will follow in Spangle Cemetery near Livingston, IL.

Memorials are suggested to either Zion Lutheran Church or School, or to the Alzheimers' Association.
