Roger Lee Hoffstetter, 79, of Staunton passed away on August 26, 2021, at Staunton Heritage Health.
Roger was born on November 17, 1941, at his family home to the late Elmer and Dorine (Bassett) Hoffstetter.
Roger graduated from Staunton High School in 1960. He joined the National Guard in 1963 during the Vietnam War. He was a Specialist E4, receiving the Sharpshooter Medal for M14 Rifle and Marksman Medal for Pistol. He received his Honorable Discharge in December of 1969.
Roger is survived by his devoted twin brother Myron. A person rarely saw one without the other.
Together Roger and Myron were Third Generation farmers, handed down from their paternal grandparents and parents. Working hard on the farm was always a priority and brought a great deal of pride and accomplishment.
Roger was a lifetime member of the American Legion of Staunton.
Visitation will be on August 30, 2021, at 10:00 AM till time of service at 11 AM at the Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton, with Pastor Debbie Atkins officiating. Burial will be held at Staunton Memorial Park. The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside military rites.
