Robert L. "Bubba" Pollett, 68, of Livingston, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born August 7, 1957 in Staunton, IL, the son of the late Roger A. & Catherine (Snell) Pollett. He married Kim Meyer on March 31, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL & she survives.
As a graduate of Livingston High School, retiring from Community Hospital of Staunton, & up until the time of his death, "Bubba" wore many hats within his community, serving as a current Board Member for both Olive Township & the Staunton Area Ambulance Service, a former Board Member of the Village of Livingston, & a former Trustee for the Olive Fire Protection District.
But "Bubba's" heart was the Fire Department......44 years of dedication, commitment, & service to the Livingston-Williamson Fire Department, with 17 of those years as Fire Chief.
He is survived by his wife - Kim Pollett of Livingston, IL; two sons - Alex Barnes (Sam Brewer) of Staunton, IL, & Josh (Delissa) Barnes of Staunton, IL; one grandson - Wyatt Barnes; his in-laws - Ken & Linda Meyer of Staunton, IL; brother-in-law - Kevin (Sara) Meyer of Staunton, IL; sisters-in-law - Kara (Paul) Prohaska of Morton, IL, & Krissy (Brent) Pfeiffer of Staunton, IL; many nieces & nephews including Robert M. Pollett of Champaign, IL, Grace & Kolbe Pfeiffer, Lauren & Kennedy Meyer & Alyssa Ridens, all of Staunton, IL, Hannah & Emily Prohaska of Morton, IL; many aunts, uncles, & cousins also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother - Roger Pollett.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livingston, IL, with Pastor Darwin Schrader officiating. Graveside services will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.
