Richard H. Schrader (89) born February 21, 1930 to Fred & Hattie (nee Hoffmann) Schrader in Staunton IL. He went to the Lord on January 31, 2020
Married Geraldine M Frahm November 6, 1954, she proceeds in death on October 12, 2016. He is survived by their children Patricia (James) Buse, Donald (Diane) Schrader, Merri Bogard, Sherri (Richard “Rick”) Plan, 11 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren
He is proceeded in death in addition to his wife Geraldine, his parents Fred & Hattie (nee Hoffmann) Schrader, and Great Grandson Ean Kruta.
Richard started his work life with McDonald Douglass, now Boeing, he worked briefly on the railroad, he then went into the Navy for four years. After his enlistment, he returned to Staunton, married Geraldine Frahm and returned working for McDonald Douglass where he retired as a journeymen machinist.
Richard was very active with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, where he was the scout master for troop 34 for many years, as well with the Explorer Scouts with the Piasa Indian Dancers. he had earned his Wood Badge training, received leadership training at Philmont Training Center in Cimarron, NM, enjoyed may summers with his boy scouts at summer camp and received honors by The Boy Scouts of America with a statuette.
Richard enjoyed traveling and camping with his family every year, he was an EMT member of the first ambulance team in Staunton IL. and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where he had held many board positions.
Per his long time wish, his body has been donated to science.
A memorial to celebrate his life will be held on February 8, 2020
