Reinhard John Schuster, 79 of Staunton, IL, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. Born July 16, 1943 in Romania, he was a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Johann & Susanna (Klein) Schuster. He married LaVerne Ahne on October 3, 1975, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Centreville, IL and she survives. He worked as a Federal Special Agent for the U.S. Treasury and later became an Investigator for the State of Illinois. John had a passion for traveling, fishing, being out in nature, and bird watching. He was a history buff. John loved his family and talking on the phone frequently.
He is survived by LaVerne Schuster of Staunton, IL, Stepdaughter – Doris (Terry) Kipping of Waterloo, IL, Grandchildren -Greg (Heather) Kipping of Waterloo, IL, Chris (Dave) Otten of Irvine, CA, Melissa Huebner of South Roxana, IL, Several great grandchildren, Brother-in-law – Franz Huber, Nieces – Lydia (Rick) Johnson of Staunton, IL, Ruth (Mike)Marzak of Lavelette, W.V., Nephews – Gordon (Kim) Gracey of Scottown, W.V., Dan (Stacey) Gracey of Hunington, W.V., Charles (Anita) Turnista of Newport News, W.V., Robert (Melissa) Turnista of Newport News, W.V., Franz (Helga) Huber II of Austria, Herbert Huber of Austria. Many great nieces and great nephews also survive.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his 3 Sisters – Kathy Huber, Maria (Steve) Gracey and Laurie (Charles) Turnista, Niece – Priscilla Gracey and Nephew – Tom Turnista.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 12 noon to 3 PM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will follow at 3 PM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Father Tom Hagstrom officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Military rites will be observed at Memorial Park Cemetery.
