Priscilla Anne (Hamp) Ogata, 80, of Staunton, IL - formerly of Champaign, IL, passed away at 12:10 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL. She was born February 27, 1945 in Champaign, IL, the daughter of the late LeRoy & Elisabeth (Spooner) Hamp. She married Kent "K.C." Ogata Sr. & he preceded her in death.
Priscilla was a devoted wife & mother. She was very active in her children's lives, volunteering with school events & organizations, making sure cookies were baked, clothes were ready, uniforms were washed, & everyone was at practice on time. She was an avid gardener, an incredible cook, a gifted seamstress, & a lover of animals, especially the many dogs & cats she cared for throughout her life.
She is survived by three daughters - Bitsy Ogata, Karyn (Colin) Jones, & Margaret Varty; two sons - Clay (Carmin) Ogata, & B.J. (Maria) Ogata; eleven grandchildren - Kelsey Ogata, Lillie Barnes Ogata, Trip Ogata, Payton Jones, Audrey Jones, Sarah Jones, Stephen Varty, Roman Varty, E. Paul Ogata, Ellie Ogata, & Thomas Ogata; two sisters - Maribeth Miles & Judy Parker; one brother - John (Jeri) Hamp; two sisters-in-law - Carole (Wally) King & Jayne Ogata (Matt Bernstein); several nieces & nephews also survive. Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by one sister - Ellen (John) Adams.
