Pamela Carter, 72, of Staunton, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Ocala, FL. She was born February 21, 1950, in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of the late Richard & Lorraine (McAuliffe) Hayes.
Pam was the owner of several local businesses and later worked as a cook on the barge lines in Paducah, KY. She loved her family and doing diamond paintings.
She is survived by a son, Raymond (Kathryn) Carter of San Diego, CA; 2 grandchildren, Nikolas & Ashleigh; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Sheila Hayes (Rusty Davis) of Bunker Hill, IL, and several nieces & nephews, great nieces & great nephews, Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Jessica Hayes, a granddaughter, McKennah Carter, 3 brothers, Richard, Leo, and William Hayes.
Private Graveside serviced will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Worden City Cemetery in Worden, IL. A public “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 12:45 to 2 Pm at the Staunton VFW Hall in Staunton, IL. Memorials are suggested to the family.
