Norman J. Sherman Jr., 83, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 8:03 AM on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Community Hospital of Staunton, IL. He was born September 16, 1940 in Litchfield, IL, the son of the late Norman & Katherine (Wright) Sherman Sr. He married Shirley A. Roark on October 15, 1958 in Staunton, IL & she passed away on June 19, 2014.

Norman was a coal miner for several years. Previously, he served in the U.S. Navy for 12 years during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by one daughter - Kathy Williams of Pensacola, FL; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister - Rosemary Sherman of Staunton, IL; one brother - Tom Sherman of Gillespie, IL; & several nieces & nephews also survive. Besides his wife & parents, he was preceded in death by one son - Jeff Sherman.
