Myron John Wiemers, 68, of Prairietown, IL, passed away at 10:02 AM on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at his residence. He was born August 24, 1956 in Alton, IL, the son of the late Louis & Lorna (Meyer) Wiemers. He married Kathleen Meinzen on June 22, 1979 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL; she survives.
He worked as a truck driver & dispatcher for Ready Mix Services in Hamel & was a lifelong farmer, alongside his brother Dan and family, at Wiemers Farms.
Myron was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, a past member of the Prairietown Vol. Fire Department, & Teamsters Local #525. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, going on drives, and watching his grandkid’s activities. He is survived by his wife - Kathleen Wiemers of Prairietown; three children - John (Brooke) Wiemers of Troy, IL, Katrina (Matt) Quattlander of Nokomis, IL & Evan (Jennifer) Wiemers of Worden,IL; eight grandchildren - Waylon, Marlie, & Mabry Wiemers; Emma, Louis, & Alex Quattlander; Lyla & Jason Wiemers; & brother - Dan (Nancy) Wiemers of Prairietown, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL, with Rev. Oliver LaMie officiating. Burial will follow at Prairietown Cemetery.
