Myron R. Hoffstetter

Myron R. Hoffstetter, 83, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 7:55 PM on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL.  He was born November 17, 1941 in Staunton, IL, ta twin son of the late Elmer & Dorine (Bassett) Hoffstetter.

Myron graduated from Staunton High School in 1960.  In 1963, he joined the National Guard during the Vietnam War.  He was an SGT Team Leader, receiving his Honorable Discharge in December of 1969.  After his discharge, he returned home & worked on the family farm.

Myron was a third generation farmer, handed down from his paternal grandparents & parents.  He was a lifetime member of the American Legion of Staunton.  He had a passion for playing Sudoku & solving crossword puzzles.  He also had a passion for attending Staunton School sporting events.  In his Class of 1960, he set a school record in the 1600 meters in track.  Myron had a certain innocence & charm that no one else possessed.

Myron is survived by numerous cousins.  His twin brother, Roger, preceded him in death in 2021.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.  The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside military rites.

Memorials are suggested to either St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton, IL.  Staunton FFA, Staunton Education Foundation, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
