Matthew A. Schmidt, 38 of Mt. Olive, IL (formerly of Staunton, IL) died on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his residence in Mt. Olive, IL. Born February 8, 1980 in Maryville, IL he was a son of the late Mrs. Tina Marie (Wood) Schmidt Moreland and Dan Schmidt. Matt enjoyed camping and fishing and loved his pets dearly.

He is survived by    Fiance’ -    Sara Crook – Mt. Olive, Illinois

Father -Dan Schmidt (fiance’ Dee Adler) – Benld, Illinois;

Brother -Jeremy Schmidt – Staunton, Illinois;

Sister - Danielle Schmidt – Staunton, Illinois;   

Paternal Grandmother -    Barbara Schmidt – Staunton, Illinois   

Matt is also survived by Sara’s Parents -Louie & Cathy Crook – Staunton, Illinois    Sara’s Sister -Cara (Gabe) Dexheimer – Mt. Olive, IL
Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins Nieces, & Nephews also survive.
Matt was preceded in death by his Mother -Tina Marie (Wood) Moreland

Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Friday at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to the Family.
