Marvin J. Little

Marvin J. Little, 84, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 7:11 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at River Crossing in Edwardsville, Illinois.  He was born August 26, 1937 in Litchfield, Illinois, the son of the late Marvin & Barbara (Paur) Little.  He married Joyce (Klein) Leyden in August of 1968 & she survives.

Marvin was employed as a Supervisor in the Blast Furnace Department at Granite City Steel in Granite City, Illinois for over 30 years.  He was a Navy veteran & a member of the USS Thetis Bay Shipmates, & a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton.  Marvin enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Besides his wife Joyce, he is survived by 4 Children – Patty (Bill) Miller of Staunton, Kim Hess (Greg Hancock) of Normal, IL,  Jay (Irena) Little of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, &  Ann Little (Ricky Pike) of Ft. Worth, TX;  10 Grandchildren – Scott Miller, Brett Miller, Matt Miller, Taylor Rogers, Merritt Little, Mason Little, Mia Little, Eva Munks, Ezra Pike, & Silas Pike;  2 Great Grandchildren -  Violet Miller & Emerson Miller;   1 Sister – Barbara Ann (Jerry) Helfrich of Springfield, IL; & several nieces & nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.

No services are scheduled at this time.  Remains were donated to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
