Marthee (Chura) Rizzi

Marthee Rizzi, 71, of Staunton, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at her residence in Staunton, IL.  She was born February 9, 1954 in Staunton, IL, the daughter of the late Harry & Louise (Tagnani) Chura.  She married Tom Rizzi on September 6, 1975 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL & he survives.

Marthee was a Staunton High School & SIU-Edwardsville graduate.  She was employed as a school teacher for 38 years, all but one of them in Staunton.  She enjoyed her teaching career & spending time with her family.  She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Staunton, IL.  

She is survived by her husband -  Tom Rizzi of Staunton, IL;  two sons -  Brad (Amy) Rizzi of Staunton, IL,  &  Mike (Corrie) Rizzi of Staunton, IL;  four grandchildren -  Owen & Kate Rizzi,  Ashton & Brooklyn Rizzi of Staunton, IL;  & a brother-in-law -  Bradley Allen of Edwardsville, IL.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister -  Joyree (Chura) Allen;  & an infant brother.

Visitation from 9 AM to 12 noon on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL, with Father Thomas Hagstrom officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.  

Memorials are suggested to either the Staunton Education Foundation or to the Staunton Food Pantry/Helping Hands Center.
