Martha A. Boston

Martha A. Boston, 78, of Maryville, IL - formerly of Livingston, IL, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.  She was born April 22, 1947 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of the late Anton & Helen (Sohovich) Boston.  She married Denis Boston on September 16, 1967 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL & he survives.

Martha graduated from Livingston High School in 1965 & worked for Fritz Drug Store in Staunton, IL.  She was also a school bus driver.  She raised her family while attending SIUE, where she obtained her teaching degree at the age of 40.  She was a longtime elementary school teacher at St. Simon & Jude Catholic School in Gillespie, IL.  She taught PSR classes at St. Simon & Jude Catholic Church.  She was an active member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, IL, & was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL before moving to Maryville.  She very much enjoyed family gatherings, weekly dinner gatherings with friends & family, shopping, & attending Mass.  She had many close friends & family who will miss her greatly.

She is survived by her husband -  Denis Boston of Maryville, IL;  two daughters -  Susan Willis of Quincy, IL,  &  Denise (Chris) Rhoads of Delaware, OH;  four grandchildren -  Julian Willis (fiance' Alyson Young) of Hannibal, MO,  Elly Willis of Quincy, IL,  Amber Davis of Jonesboro, AR,  &  Lauren Davis of Delaware, OH;  one brother -  Phillip (Terri) Boston;  & a sister-in-law -  Gloria Boston (wife of the late Robert "Beany" Boston).  She is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, & close friends.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son -  Brian Boston;  one brother -  Robert "Beany" Boston;  & her in-laws -  Mat & Edna Boston.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL, & from 10 AM to 11 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL, with Rev. Thomas Hagstrom officiating.  Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Livingston, IL.

Memorials are suggested to either Saint John Neumann Catholic School, Sacred Heart Cemetery, or the Livingston High School Reunion Fund.
