Mark S. Cabaness

Mark S. Cabaness, 62, of Staunton, Illinois, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family & friends after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born in Staunton, Illinois on March 2, 1959, the son of the late Paul & Betty (Wolf) Cabaness.  He married his best friend Debra S. Light-Albright on June 28, 1991 & they enjoyed 30+ years of marriage.

Mark graduated from Livingston High School & worked at Community Hospital of Staunton for 42 years.  He was a member of Net Community Church of Staunton & was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan & train collector.  He left this world with the same strength, courage, & dignity with which he lived his life.  Mark was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, & friend.

He is survived by his loving wife Debra;  his daughter Kimberley (Bob) Steward;  his son Christopher (Cindy) Cabaness;  his stepdaughter Miki Davidson;  grandchildren – Dakota, Katrina, Hailey, Grace, Nicholas, & Maddie;  sisters – Laura Johnson (Ray Bebee), Marilyn (Greg) Herbeck, Brenda (Rick) Odorizzi, & Michele (Rob) VanDeHey;  brother – Michael Cabaness;  & his loyal canine companion Alfie.  Many nieces & nephews also survive.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, October 11, 2021 & from 9 to 10 AM on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Net Community Church in Staunton.  Funeral services at 10 AM on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Net Community Church in Staunton, with Pastor Derrick Taylor officiating.  Burial in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Illinois.  Memorials are suggested to either the family or to Net Community Church in Staunton.
