Mario Raymond Dal Pozzo, 71 of Staunton, Illinois died Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at his residence with family by his side. Born November 13, 1948 in Litchfield, Illinois, he was a son of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Raymond “Jeff” & Doris (Knabel) Dal Pozzo. He married Deborah Ritchie on October 10, 1970 and she survives. Mario served in the U.S. Army from 1968 – 1974. He worked as a Computer Programmer at Granite City Steel in Granite City, Illinois for many years. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and being with his family. Mario loved hanging out at “Mr. T’s” and “The Alleys”.
He is survived by Wife - Deborah Dal Pozzo – Staunton, Illinois, 1 Daughter - Tamara (Julian) Dal Pozzo Ramirez – Swansea, Illinois, 3 Grandchildren - Ashleigh (Daniel) Feldmann – Staunton, Illinois, Peyton Bernot – Benld, Illinois, Rylee Bernot – Benld, Illinois, 4 Great Grandchildren - Elexia, Jace, Jax, & Emreigh Feldmann – Staunton, IL, 2 Sisters - Karen (Mike) Luchtefeld – Trenton, Illinois, Tami (Brian) Kershaw – Staunton, Illinois. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, & Cousins also survive.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by –1 Son - Jeffrey Dal Pozzo.
There will be no public visitation due to COVID-19 protocol. Private family services will be held Monday, May 11, 2020 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Pastor Debbie Jo Atkins officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to The American Lung Association or to the Staunton Sports Boosters.
