Marilyn L. (Cox) Huhsman

Marilyn L. Huhsman, 89, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL.  She was born November 2, 1934 in Litchfield, Illinois, the daughter of the late Glen Cox & the late Olga (Newman) Cox Luenemann.  She married James M. Huhsman on May 22, 1954 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL & he passed away August 31, 2019.

Marilyn was an office clerk at Fritz's Drug Store in Staunton, IL for several years.  Previously, she had worked at Emerson Electric before moving to Colorado Springs, CO.  After moving back to Staunton, she worked at Illinois Power & later was a receptionist at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, IL.

She was a longtime member at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL;  member of St. Boniface Catholic Church of Edwardsville, IL.  She enjoyed playing golf,  watching golf, & "Marilyn's Famous Vodka & Water".

She is survived by her brother-in-law & sister-in-law -  Stephen "Butch" & Kathy Huhsman of Staunton, IL;  & several nieces & nephews also survive.  Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters -  Tricia & Andrea Huhsman;  &  one brother -  Glen "Buzzy" (wife Barbara) Cox

Friends may call from 5 to 6 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Staunton, IL.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 6 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL with Rev. Thomas Hagstrom officiating.  Private interment will be at a later date in Chapman Cemetery near Mt. Olive, IL.

Memorials are suggested to either the Staunton Food Pantry or to Chapman Cemetery near Mt. Olive, IL.
