Marietta M. (Cheragotti) Welborn

Marietta M. Welborn, 87, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 5 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at her residence in Staunton, Illinois.  She was born October 15, 1935 in Staunton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Joseph & Lena (Colpi) Cheragotti.  She married Daniel Welborn in 1975 & he passed away in January 2003.

Marietta was employed as a Registered Nurse at Community Hospital of Staunton for over 30 years.  She was also a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Staunton, a Volunteer at His Service Station & at Community Hospital of Staunton, IL.  She believed in giving back to the community where she was born.

She is survived by 1 daughter -  Elizabeth M. Bennett of Staunton, IL;  1 brother -  Daniel (Linda) Cheragotti of St. Louis, MO;  1 step son -  Wayne Welborn of Roxana, IL;  numerous nieces & nephews also survive, including -  Shannon Bilbrey of Granger, TX,  Mary Cheragotti of St. Louis, MO,  Joseph Cheragotti of St. Louis, MO,  & Anthony Cheragotti of St. Louis, MO.  Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by 1 daughter -  Mary Ann Bennett.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, Illinois, with Rev. Thomas Hagstrom officiating.  Private interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, Illinois.
