Margaret Ann (Wood) Pruitt

Margaret Ann Pruitt, 76, of Staunton, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Community Hospital of Staunton, IL.  She was born September 15, 1949, the daughter of the late Lucy (Foley) Wood.  She was married to Gordon Pruitt & he passed away January 21, 2006.

Margaret was a graduate of Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto, IL.  She was a collector of angel figurines & enjoyed watching "Family Feud" on television.

She is survived by two daughters -  Jodee (Gregory) Barks of Collinsville, IL,  &  Jill (Jeffrey) Bast of Collinsville, IL;  eleven grandchildren -  Tylor (Alyssa) McBride,  Nicholas Yates (Sydney Karius),  Patrick (Mackenzie) Yates,  Brandi Pope,  Haley Connor,  Kaysha Barks,  Christian (Rachel) Vaughn,  Amber DeHart (Devin Johnson),  Jordan (Brittany) Vaughn,  Logan (Madison) Pelo,  &  Maddy (Anthony) Troxell;  thirteen great grandchildren;  two sisters -  Debbie McKee  &  Kimberly Oglesby;  two brothers -  David Wood  &  Danny Wood;  numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins also survive.  Besides her husband & mother, she was preceded in death by one brother -  Shaun Wood.

Private graveside services were held on Monday, July 20, 2026 at RoseLawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, IL.
