Louis Barry Schelling Jr.

Louis Barry Schelling Jr., 81, of Worden, IL, passed away at 9:49 AM on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Cedarhurst Senior Living Center in Bethalto, IL.  He was born July 30, 1944 in Urbana, IL, the son of the late Louis Barry & Alice (Quinlan) Schelling Sr.

Louis graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1966, then secured his Law Degree from Tulsa University, then his Masters of Law from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.  He served as a Green Beret in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He enjoyed playing Bridge, photography, & coin collecting.

He is survived by four siblings -  Joseph R. (Michal) Schelling of Worden, IL,  Barbara L. (Phillip) Edwards of Indianapolis, IN,  Michael P. (Sally) Schelling of Decatur, IL,  &  Katherine A. (John) Sawyer of Ames, IA;  & numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins also survive.

No services are scheduled.  Private burial will be held at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rantoul, IL.  

Memorials are suggested to the Worden Volunteer Fire Department.
