Lorraine C. Heigert

Lorraine C. Heigert, 94, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 1:36 AM on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Gillespie Health & Rehab Center in Gillespie, IL.  She was born February 8, 1932 in Staunton, IL, the daughter of the late Benjamin & Frances (Dietz) Heigert.

Lorraine was employed at Laclede Steel in Alton, IL for many years & was a member of Steelworkers Union Local #3643.  She was also a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Staunton, IL.

She is survived by a sister-in-law -  Loretta Heigert of Staunton, IL;  two nieces -  Valerie Moore of Springfield, IL,  &  Diane (Rick) Coronado of McLeansboro, IL;  three nephews -  Ron Heigert of Staunton, IL,  Donald (Marlene) Heigert of Staunton, IL,  &  Thomas (Laura) Heigert of Staunton, IL;  special friend -  Darla Uldricks of Mt. Olive, IL;  & several great nieces, great nephews, & cousins also survive.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers -  Elmer (Doris) Heigert  &  Harold Heigert;  & one nephew -  Ken Heigert.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 noon on Friday, May 29, 2026 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, May 29, 2026 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL, with Father Thomas Hagstrom officiating.  Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.  Memorials are suggested to either St. Michael Catholic Cemetery or to Adopt-A-Pet of Benld, IL.
