Linda Ellen (Wassi) Burgard

Linda Ellen Burgard, 73, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 6:20 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at The Bradford Place in Swansea, Illinois.  She was born April 19, 1950 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of the late Benjamin & Mary Wassi.  

Linda worked as a Custodian/Bus Driver in the Staunton School District in Staunton, Illinois for many years.  She loved gardening, landscaping, & flowers, & also enjoyed fishing & shopping.

She is survived by a son -  Dan (Tobi) Burgard of Edwardsville, IL;  a grandson -  Keegan Burgard;  a granddaughter -  Hannah Cress;  two great grandchildren -  Thomas & Cosabella Cress;  a brother -  George Wassi of Farmington, IL;  & numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother -  Joe Wassi;  & two sisters -  Pat Matthews & Bette Wassi.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, Illinois.  Memorials are suggested to the Staunton Education Foundation.
