Leta Hall, 92, of Worden, IL passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10:10 PM at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL with family by her side. She was born April 7, 1931, in Poplar Bluff, MO. She was a daughter of the late Roy & Dorothy Steed and Homer & Ethel Welch. She married Ben Hall on March 7, 1946, and he passed away October 7, 2019.
She had many things she enjoyed in life. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord. She attended New Hope Baptist Church most of her life. She was active in WMU, teaching Sunday school & Bible school. Another love of her life was baby-sitting, and she impacted many children’s lives. She also loved gardening, sewing, and many crafts.
Leta is survived by 3 children, Bill (Carolyn)Hall, Barbara Tanksley, and Ginger (Tom) Smith; 5 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; 1sister, Betty (George) McKinzie, sister-in-law, Judy Steed. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her brothers and sisters in Christ.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Linda (Corkey) Reynolds & Cora (Don) Edwards, 1 brother, Eddy Steed, and 2 sons-in-law, Lester Prier and Larry Tanksley.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 5 to 8 PM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Rev. John Heater & Rev. David Lindgens officiating. Burial will follow at RoseLawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, IL. Memorials are suggested to New Hope Baptist Church of Worden, IL.
