Leatrice "Lee" (DuBree) Randle

Leatrice "Lee" Randle, 89, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 12:15 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL.

She was born January 18, 1937 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of the late Wilbur & Victoria DuBree.  She married Vernon Randle on September 15, 1956 & he preceded her in death in an automobile accident returning home from work on April 18, 1968.

Lee lived in Staunton her entire life & graduated from Staunton High School in 1955.  After graduation, she worked for a time at the Bank of St. Louis until her marriage, then worked at International Shoe Company for a short time before having her four children.  After the devastating shock of her husband's death, she stayed at home for three years to take care of the children, then worked at the A&W Root Beer Stand as Manager, which was close to home & the children.  Later she worked at Florist Mutual in Edwardsville, & Emrich Hardware in Staunton.  She then attended Lewis & Clark Community College & graduated on the President's List.  For the next 15 years, she worked as the Purchasing Department Secretary/Administrative Assistant at Mississippi Lime Co. in Alton, IL until they moved the office to St. Louis, MO.  Many knew her later as a Cashier at Wal Mart in Glen Carbon, where she worked for 15 years before retiring in 2016 at the age of almost 80 years old.

Prior to her husband's death, they were very active in the Staunton Knights of Columbus, with Vernon being the Grand Knight & a 4th Degree Knight at the time of his death.  Lee enjoyed baking, cooking, & had a special love for flowers.  She worked in the yard continuously.  Most of all, her happiness was being with her great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.  A big hug meant everything.

She is survived by two sons -  James Randle of Staunton, IL,  &  Joseph Randle of Benld, IL;  two daughters -  Jeanine (Allen) Fassero of Bunker Hill, IL,  &  Jacklyn Holmes of Livingston, IL;  five grandchildren -  Jason Fassero,  Michelle (Jerry) Hall,  Jamie (Matt) Perry,  Tiffany (Jake) Thomas,  &  Katreina Randle;  & seven great grandchildren -  Caleb Fassero, Nevaeh, Madisyn, Chaycen, & Jack Thomas,  Ellie Hall,  &  Hadley Perry.

Private graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL at a later date.  Memorials are suggested to either the Staunton Food Pantry or to His Service Station in Staunton, IL.
