Larry A. Kuba, 77 of Staunton, Illinois died Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Heritage Health in Staunton, Illinois. Born September 10, 1942 in Highland, Illinois, he was a son of the Late Mr. Andrew Kuba and the Late Mrs. Viola (Finke) Basso. He graduated from Staunton High School in 1960. Larry played football at the University of Missouri (Mizzou) for 4 years & graduated from there with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education in 1970 & also earned an Administrative Degree. He married Sharon Kinnikin on August 14, 1965 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, Illinois and she died on December 24, 2009. Larry was a High School Math Teacher, Coach, and Educator at Staunton High School in Staunton, Illinois for many years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton.
He is survived by 1 Daughter, Alison (Vincent) Hasquin of Staunton, IL; 1 Son, Andrew (Jennifer) Kuba of Malvern, OH; 5 Grandchildren, Eric & Emily Hasquin of Staunton, IL; and Megan, Kaitlyn, and Evan Kuba of Malvern, OH; 1 Brother, Roger W. (Jane) Kuba of Westfield, IN; 1 Sister, Vickie Blaine of Collinsville, IL. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by Stepfather’s, Joe Secco and Guido Basso.
Friends may call from 9 AM to 12 Noon on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, Illinois. A Memorial Service will follow at 12 Noon at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton with Rev. Kelly Mitteis officiating. Per his wishes, remains will be donated to St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton or to the Charity of the Donor’s choice.
