Larry E. Graves, 85 of Staunton, IL passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at his residence in Staunton. Born March 6, 1935 in Syracuse, KS, he was a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Carl & Henrietta Graves. He married Shirley A. Mathias on December 23, 1961 in Syracuse, KS and she passed away on December 2, 2016. He worked as a Carpenter and was a partner of Graves Brothers Construction in Staunton for many years. Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1953 – 1956.
He is survived by 2 Sons -Troy (Lynette) Graves of Staunton, Illinois and Scott (Joann) Graves of Foley, Alabama, 6 Grandchildren - Ashleigh (Paul) Hamilton, Kacy (Stewart) Heim, Chelsea Marinacci, Mindy Graves, Missy Graves, & Dustin Graves, 3 Great Grandchildren - Blayne Pirok, Knox & Merrik Hamilton
2 Sisters - Martha Beauchamp of Colorado and Shirley Stinchcomb of Wyoming, 1 Brother - Merle Graves of South Dakota. Numerous Nieces & Nephews also survive.
Besides his wife & parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother - Fred Graves.
No services are scheduled. Per his wishes, Larry will be donated to St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Memorials are suggested to Staunton VFW Post #1241.
