Larry Ray Davis II, 54, of Staunton, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Tuesday, February 24, 1970 in Staunton, IL. He married the love of his life, Pam Mueller, on June 30, 1990 in Staunton, IL.
Larry was a member of the United States Air Force for 23 years. He served active duty from May 1989 to May 2013, after being wounded in Iraq & flown home on the Wounded Warrior plane. Larry did not give his life in war, but his life was taken from a service connected illness due to many overseas deployments. In every shape & form, Larry R. Davis II was a veteran of war & a hero for his country.
Larry took on many different roles in his life, but the most important role to him was protector of his family. He gave everything, so his family could have anything. He didn't know a stranger & had the most infectious personality of anyone this world has seen. It was physically impossible not to love him & his signature smile.
Larry was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, & there wasn't a game he was willing to miss. In football's offseason, he enjoyed movie nights with his family, listening to music, & loving life. He loved fishing, but only if he was with his favorite fishing partner, his son, on their beautiful green boat.
Larry loved his wife, Pamala, more than anyone has loved another human being. The love he had for her was indescribable. As he would say "I'm going to love you Forever & Ever, Amen". Larry's second love was a tie between his three children & his four beautiful grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife - Pamala Davis of Staunton, IL; three children - Lacie Davis of Staunton, IL, Larry Davis III of Litchfield, IL, & Laria Davis of Staunton, IL; & his four grandchildren - Hudson, Hazzlie, Hattie, & Hayden Davis. He was preceded in death by his father - Larry Ray Davis; his sister - Jennifer Davis; & his maternal grandparents - John & Norma Halteman.
Private family funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL, with Chaplain Ryan Harris officiating. The Staunton Military Honor Guard conducted graveside military rites.
