Kenneth J. Heigert

Kenneth J. Heigert, 65, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 11, 2023.  He was born June 13, 1957 in Staunton, Illinois, the son of the late Elmer & Doris (Jarden) Heigert.  He married Linda Turner on October 10, 1992 & she survives.

Ken, a life-long Staunton resident, was formerly a heavy equipment mechanic at Fairmount Race Track and a hobby farmer.  A true handyman & Mr. Fix-It, he was always willing to lend a hand.  He was very proud of his children & grandchildren, & loved watching them grow.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Heigert, of Staunton, IL;  two children -  Scott (Candace) Turner of Waynesville, MO, & Lisa (Kyle) Hemenover of Mokena, IL;  four grandchildren -  Bryce & Brynn Turner, & Layla & Lily Hemenover;  two brothers -  Ron Heigert of Staunton, IL, & Don (Marlene) Heigert of Staunton, IL;  and nieces & nephews -  Chris Heigert, Tammy Dooley, Shane (Lauren) Heigert, & Melissa Heigert.  Besides his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his daughter, Alisha; and a sister-in-law - Beverly Heigert.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL.  Private burial of cremains will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Staunton Chapter of Future Farmers of America (FFA), 801 N. Deneen St., Staunton, IL  62088.
