Karon L. (Jacobs) Ismari

Karen L. Ismari, 81, of rural Worden, Illinois, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was born August 17, 1942 in Staunton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Vincent & Laura (Cailotto) Jacobs.  She married Norman Ismari on October 7, 1960 in Carlinville, Illinois, & he survives.

Karon was employed as a Schoolteacher at Gillespie Middle School in Gillespie, Illinois for many years, retiring in 2005.  She was a member of Musicians Union Local #88 & enjoyed playing in local area municipal bands.

She is survived by her husband -  Norman Ismari of rural Worden, IL;  a son -  Scott Ismari of Staunton, IL;  a daughter -  Denise;  five grandchildren -  Alaina Ismari,  Joshua Ismari,  Zypher Hood,  Sophie Hood,  &  Sadie Hood;  two brothers -  Ralph (Susan) Jacobs of California,  &  Rodney (Jonnie) Jacobs of California;  one niece & two nephews also survive.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
