Joseph “Nails” Seketa, 85 of Staunton, Illinois died Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Born July 3, 1934 in Benld, Illinois, he was a son of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Joseph & Margaret (Arlesic) Seketa. He married JoAnn Hebenstreit on August 12, 1961 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton, Illinois and she died on August 28, 2008. They were married for 47 years. Joe worked as a Truck Driver for Guido’s Distributing for 35 years. He was also a part-time Staunton Police Officer. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. Joe was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton; Staunton VFW Post #1241 & Color Guard; Staunton Township Board; and the Marine Corps League. Joe also helped with the Patriot Club at the school for 18 years. Joseph “Nails” Seketa was the # 1 Staunton Bulldogs Fan.
Joe is survived by 3 Children - Jamie (Rick) Kinder & the Kinder grandchildren –Brett (Becca), Blake, Brady, Brent, & Brooke

Kelsey (Brad) Staub & great granddaughter Rosalie

1 Brother - Jim Seketa

There will be no public visitation due to COVID-19 protocol. Private Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton with Father George Radosevich officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Patriot Club, Staunton High School Basketball Program, or to Staunton VFW Post #1241.
