Joseph A. Mishanec

Joseph A. Mishanec, 90, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 10:30 PM on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Aspen Creek of Troy, Illinois.  He was born May 15, 1932, the son of the late Joseph & Catherine (Rumisek) Mishanec.  He married Joy M. Fraker on March 20, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, Illinois & she passed away on March 2, 2023.

Joe was an Iron Worker out of Local #396 in East St. Louis, Illinois, & served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  He met his sweetie at an Officers Ball.  Joe loved his family & he loved to play golf.  He & his wife Joy ran the Adopt-A-Pet Benefit Golf Tournament for over 10 years.

He is survived by three children -  Steve Mishanec,  Jeff (Kathy) Mishanec,  & Cathy (Larry) Cimarolli;  five grandchildren -  Nicole Dautenhahn,  Rachael Mishanec,  Autumn Haas,  Michelle Colborn,  & Matt Colborn;  six great grandchildren;  & two great great grandchildren.  Besides his wife & parents, he was preceded in death by a son -  Joseph E. Mishanec;  a granddaughter -  Ashley Haas;  & five siblings -  Lydia,  Stella,  Oly,  Violet,  & Irene.

Friends may call from 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton.  A Memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton.  Private burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, Illinois.
