Janice L. (Schulmeister) Maxwell, 83 of Staunton, IL passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, May 14, 2021. Born February 12, 1938 in Litchfield, Il, she was a daughter of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Henry & Emma (Heinz) Schulmeister. She worked as a secretary for the Army Engineers Corp in St. Louis, MO and also worked for Ahrens/Niemeier Auction. She was Treasurer of HIS Service Station in Staunton and also served on the Board of Directors. Janice enjoyed reading, growing orchids, planting flowers, and spoiling her grandchildren. She helped tutor her nieces and nephews in English.
She is survived by 1 Daughter – Kimberly (Leo) Dombrowski of Brookfield, IL
1 Grandson – Max Dombrowski of Brookfield, IL
1 Granddaughter – Dana Dombrowski of Brookfield, IL
1 Brother – Dean Schulmeister of Staunton, IL
2 Sisters – Bette Schulmeister of Staunton, IL
Joan (Ed) Rucker of Staunton, IL
Several nieces and nephews also survive
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Carol Schulmeister.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton with Rev. Debbi Jo Atkins officiating.
