Obituary
Janet Lorene Valent, 86 of Staunton, IL, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL. Born October 5, 1936 in Staunton, IL, she was a daughter of the late Matthew & Pearl (Dohnal) Valent. She worked as an Insurance Agent /Broker for Haas & Wilkerson in St. Louis, MO for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton, a past member of Staunton Country Club ( Ladies golf league), enjoyed playing cards, especially BUNCO.
She is survived by 1 brother, Marlin (Jackie) Valent of Osage Beach, MO; 2 nieces, Connie (Mardy) Johnson of O’Fallon, MO and Diane (Rich) Oppits of St. Louis, MO. Several great nieces and great nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 10 to 12 noon on Friday, February 17, 2023, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. A Memorial Service will follow at 12 noon at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Pastor Philip Girardin officiating. The burial of cremains will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to Adopt-A-Pet of Benld.
