James A. Schultze, 85, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 9:20 AM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his residence in Staunton, Illinois. He was born June 12, 1938 in Highland, Illinois, the son of the late John C. & Helen C. (Schroeppel) Schultze. He married Rose Mary Knecht on March 16, 1963 at Friedens' Evangelical Church in Troy, Illinois & she survives.
Jim was the Owner & Operator of Schultze, Maechling, & Associates, Inc. for many years. He was a Corporate Consultant, Evaluator, & Expert Witness for closely held corporations. He also served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962.
He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton, IL; Past President of the Staunton School Board for many years; Past member of St. Paul Church Council for many years; a member of many Professional organizations; & Jim also held a Private Pilot's license.
He is survived by his wife - Rose Mary Schultze of Staunton, IL; one son - J. Andrew (Tatiana) Schultze of Edwardsville, IL; one daughter - Jessica (Wayne) Kirkman of Terre Haute, IN; four grandchildren - Dylan & Haley Schultze of O'Fallon, IL, Sebaxstian Schultze of Edwardsville, IL, & Ava Wilson of Terre Haute, IN; two sisters - Mary Loyet of Carrollton, IL, & Patricia Hinton of Alhambra, IL; one brother - Joseph Schultze of St. Jacob, IL; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings - Richard, Jean, Lois, John, & Paul.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton, IL with Rev. Debbie Jo Atkins officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville, Illinois. The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside military rites.
