James Franklin Michaels, 69 of Worden, Illinois passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Community Hospital in Staunton. Born July 4, 1952, in East St. Louis, IL, he was a son of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Robert & Yvette (Jones) Michaels. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years. James served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a strong man who was always there to give a helping hand to friends and neighbors. He never met a stranger and always gave his time and talent wherever he saw a need. He had a love for music and always enjoyed a good joke. He lived his life on his terms and passed away on August 1, 2021, after battling heart disease for many years. May he rest in peace.
He is survived by 3 Sisters, Patricia L. Michaels-Hausman-Walters of Kurtistown, HI, Karen M (David) McDonough of Edwardsville, IL, Victoria L. (Fred) Crook of Edwardsville, IL, 1 Brother – Chris Landreth of Granite City, IL, Nieces – Wendy, Jennifer, Andrea, and Melissa, Nephew – J.D.
Preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother – Robert S. Michaels Jr.
