James M. Huhsman, 86 of Holiday Shores, Illinois, formerly of Staunton passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL. Born April 11, 1933 in Litchfield, IL, he was a son of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Michael & Berna (Stemploski) Huhsman. He married Marilyn Cox on May 22, 1954 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton and she survives. He worked as an electrician at SIU-Edwardsville campus for 32 years. Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton; Staunton Knights of Columbus #2197; IBEW Local #649 of Alton.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Huhsman of Holiday Shores, IL; 1 Brother, Stephen “Butch” (Kathy) Huhsman of Staunton, IL; 1 Sister, Marian Grace (Hartford) Henry of Englewood, FL. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by 2 Daughters, Tricia & Andrea Huhsman.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton. A Memorial Mass will follow with Father George Radosevich officiating. Memorials are suggested to either Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton.
