James Robert Denney

James Robert Denney, 78, of Livingston, IL, passed away at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at his residence in Livingston, IL.  He was born October 9, 1947 in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Robert Clinton & Elizabeth Ann (Fech) Denney.  He married Jill Hefer on June 8, 1980 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL & they later divorced.

Jim graduated from Livingston High School with the Class of 1965.  He was a Bricklayer/Plasterer out of Local #8 in O'Fallon, IL for 45 years, & his hobbies included hunting & fishing.  Jim also served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his two children -  Lacy Denney (Justin Pruett) of Tovey, IL,  &  Tim Denney (Amy Price) of Staunton, IL;  two grandchildren -  Preston Denney  &  Paisley Pruett;  & two brothers -  Mike Denney of Livingston, IL,  &  Gary (Judy) Denney of Livingston, IL.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law -  Elaine Denney.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL.  A eulogy will be delivered at 12:30 PM at the funeral home, followed by a prayer from Pastor Aaron Green.  The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct military rites immediately following the prayer.
