Jacqueline L. (Bradley) Yakos

Jacqueline L. Yakos, 86, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.  She was born March 16, 1936 in Staunton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Roy "Chili" & Vera (Sexton) Bradley.  She married Charles "Chach" Yakos in November of 1957 in Granite City, Illinois & he passed away on November 5, 2019.

Jackie graduated from Staunton High School in 1954 & from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Alton, Illinois in 1957.  She began her career as a Registered Nurse at St. Louis City Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri & later worked at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, Illinois for many years.  She loved taking care of people!  She was also a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Staunton, Illinois.

She is survived by four children -  Susan (Dick) Maddalon,  Bart (Diana) Yakos,  Brad (Maria) Yakos,  & Lynn (Pete) Vogel;  ten grandchildren -  Becky,  Jared,  Katie,  Marilyn,  Matt,  Sarah,  Emma,  Ruth,  Greg,  & Chris;  ten great grandchildren -  Jesse,  Chloe,  Cameron,  Joey,  Josiah,  Jaxson,  Landon,  Gabe,  Madyson,  & Benjamin;  a sister - Kay Knop;  & several nieces & nephews also survive.  Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson -  Simon;  & two brothers -  Ross Bradley & Jerry Bradley.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton.  Memorial Services will be held at 7 PM on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, with Rev. Thomas Hagstrom officiating.  Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, Illinois at a later date.
